Fishery Management
The freshwater fisheries of Scotland are a unique and valuable resource that excite the interest of many organisations and individuals. In 2008 the Scottish Government funded Fisheries Trusts across Scotland to prepare management plans for the freshwater fisheries in their areas.
The Lochaber Fisheries Management plan is available to download here.
The plans provide a structured approach to fisheries management based on current knowledge and best practice. They identify local problems, appropriate remedial action and areas where further information is required. The LFT does not manage any rivers or wield regulatory powers, so the implementation of the plan depends on the support and collaboration of many other organisations and people. The Lochaber Fisheries Management Plan will be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it remains current
